| 2009-2010 ISU Sr. Grand Prix |
The order of the senior GP events has been changed for this year. The six events will be:
*Trophee Eric Bompard - Oct. 15-18 (in Paris) * Rostelecom Cup (formerly Cup of Russia) - Oct. 22-25 (in Moscow) * Cup of China - Oct. 29-Nov. 1 (in Beijing) * NHK Trophy - Nov. 5-8 (in Nagano) * Skate America - Nov. 12-15 (in Lake Placid) * Skate Canada - Nov. 19-22 (in Kitchener)
The Grand Prix final (combined final for Jr. & Sr. GP) will be Dec. 3-6 in Tokyo.

| ISU Adult Figure Skating Competition 2009 |
This year's international adult competition took place in Oberstdorf, Germany 28-31 May 2009. The results page is here. There is also an article summarizing CDN results on the Skate Canada website. Congratulations to all the Canadian competitors, especially those who train at Minto!

| ISU World Team Trophy |
The ISU introduced a new event as the finale to the 2008/2009 skating season - the World Team Trophy which took place in Tokyo, Japan from April 16-19, 2009. Teams representing the top six countries from the past season participated. Each team consisted of two men, two ladies, one pair and one ice dance couple.
Teams represented the USA, Canada, Japan, Russia, France and China. They qualified according to the results of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating, ISU European, ISU Four Continents, ISU World Junior and ISU World Figure Skating Championships.
Team USA won this inaugural competition with Team Canada 2nd & Team Japan third. The full results are here
Skaters who had high international rankings in each discipline but who didn't skate for the competing countries were invited to participate in the gala exhibition.
There will be no team competition in 2010 but it is expected to return in 2011.

| ISU 2009 World Championships |
The World Championships for the 2008-2009 season took place in Los Angeles, California from March 23-29, 2009. The results and full protocols are available here.

| ISU 2009 World Junior Championships |
World Juniors took place in Sofia, Bulgaria from 22 February to 1 March 2009. Detailed results are here.

| 2009 BMO Skate Canada Jr. Nationals |
The 2009 Junior Nationals took place in Calgary from Feb. 11-14 with skaters competing in all four disciplines in the Juvenile, Pre-novice and Novice categories. The results are here.

| 2009 ISU Four Continents Championships |
The Four Continents championships took place in Vancouver, BC from Feb. 2-8, 2009. Results and full protocols are here.
As this was a test event for the 2010 Olympic facilities, the top skaters from most of the countries participated, except where injuries caused them to withdraw. Canada had 3 entries in each of the disciplines and our tops skaters received 1 gold & 3 silver medals.
TV coverage in Canada was provided by CBC and BOLD (digital). There was also live coverage on www.cbcsports.ca which is now available demand.

| 2009 US championships |
US Nationals took place in Cleveland, OH from Jan. 18th to 25th. The event page is here. From that page you can follow links to the results, news, etc. The Jr. & Sr. results page is here.
As with the European and CDN championships there were withdrawals due to injury or illness. These include ice dancers Tanith Belbin & Ben Agosto who had to withdraw during the Grand Prix Final due to a problem with Ben's back. They plan to return to competition for the World championships.

| 2009 European championships |
The European championships took place in Helsinki, Finland from Jan. 20-25. Results and protocols are here.
Injuries forced several skaters/teams to withdraw from this competition, including 2008 World ice dance champions Delobel & Schoenfelder who recently claimed the 2009 Grand Prix title. They hope to be ready to compete at Worlds to defend their title.

| 2009 CDN figure skating championships |
Our 2009 championships are now history and almost all of our teams for Four Continents and Worlds have been named. The exception is in Pairs where Skate Canada is awaiting medical reports on the health of Annabelle Langlois to see if she and her partner, Cody Hay, might be able to participate after having to miss Canadians.
The championships were thrilling for those in attendance and those watching through CBC, Bold and cbcsports.ca. Video on demand remains available via the latter. Be sure to follow all the story & video links.
