Club Demonstration Ice Show (December)
Coinciding with the end of the Fall CanSkate program, the Demonstration Ice Show features a range of skaters, from the very beginning levels to our National competitors. This is a great opportunity to see Minto skaters performing and lighting up the ice.
CanSkate Ice Show (March)
At the end of the Spring CanSkate program, the CanSkate Ice Show features some of the Club’s elite skaters in feature roles, backed up by a lively and enthusiastic cast of Canskate participants. Every skater in the CanSkate program is welcome to be part of this show, which features innovative costumes, great music, and smiling faces.
Club Competition (April)
The end of the skating season for Club members is marked by an in-house
competition which features events for skaters at every level, including an Improv event that uncovers some amazing talent. There is a strong social component to this competition, as senior skaters perform the role of judges for the junior members, and many families are involved in the details of making it a success.
Year-End Banquet (May)
This festive sit-down dinner celebrates the accomplishments of skaters and volunteers. Trophies and awards are presented to skaters who have represented Minto during the year, and volunteers are recognized for their hard work for the Club. It’s a great family party featuring videos of our skating talent and lots of lively footwork on the dance floor.
Minto Summer Skate (August)
The Minto Skating Club’s invitational competition takes place on the long weekend in August, and attracts hundreds of skaters from across North America. It includes STARSkate and Competitive events in freestyle, pairs and dance. The event takes place over three or four days, and is the major fund-raiser for the Club; it requires many helpers to make it happen. Summer Skate features a high level of elite competition, which makes it an exciting event to watch as well as to participate in.
