2016 ISU European Championships

This event is currently underway in Bratislava, Slovakia (Jan. 25-31, 2016).

The competition includes the long-awaited championship debut of the newly-eligible German pairs team of Savchenko & Massot, following Bruno's release by France. The Russian pairs team of Stolbova & Klimov withdrew at the last moment when he suffered a shoulder injury in practice. They were replaced by Astakhova & Rogonov. The Russian pairs team of Kavaguti & Smirmov had to withdraw earlier from both Europeans and Worlds when she suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon and required surgery.

An article on the first day of competition has been posted by the International Figure Skating magazine. Additional articles are expected to be posted as the competition proceeds.

There is no TV coverage scheduled for Canada but NBC will provide some TV coverage on January 30th. Check local listings.
