There were some startling ice dance team breakups following the Olympics. Last week, in the Cup of China competition we saw one of the "reformed" teams from Russia, Elena ILINYKH & Ruslan ZHIGANSHIN, who train in Moscow, and who placed fourth. [She won medals at the Sochi Olympics with her former partner.] This week we will see that team again, this time going "head to head" with another "reformed" team which includes Elena's former partner teamed up with Ruslan's former partner. Victoria SINITSINA & Nikita KATSALAPOV train in Michigan with Marina Zoueva who is very complimentary of their abilities.

In case you were wondering, Ruslan ZHIGANSHIN's sister, Nelli ZHIGANSHINA continues to represent Germany  in ice dance with Alexander GAZSI - they were 11th at the Olympics.
